Photos: Swimming with the Best
The Guilderville boys’ swim team sent one relay team and three swimmers to the state competition at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in Westbury on Long Island this past weekend.

Splashing his face: Guilderville's Michael Ardito swims in the preliminary heat on Friday morning. Arditio finished fourth in his heat with a time of 1:01.26. Then on Saturday he swam in the C final, finishing 22nd in the state with a time of 1:01.04.

Teamwork: Alexander Cresanti leaps from the starting board to start the breaststroke portion as teammate Ardito finishes the backstroke portion in the 200-meter Medley relay; the team finished second in its heat with a time of 1:42.12 — 46th in the state.

Jump start: Joseph Gravino starts in the 100-meter freestyle, finishing 10th in his heat with a time of 48.83; he finished 36th in the state. Gravino also swam in the 50-meter freestyle, finishing 13th in the state with a time of 21.71.

Face full of water: Guilderville’s Alexander Cresanti comes up for air during his 100-meter breaststroke heat at the state competition preliminary round last Friday at Nassau County Aquatic Center in Westbury, New York. Cresanti finished second in his heat and 43rd overall in the state with a time of 1:02.47.
