Photos: Four Guilderville Swimmers Swim With NYS Best
On the weekend of March 1, the Guilderville boys’ swim team traveled to Ithaca College for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association swim and dive championships. Guilderville tied for 14th in the state with only four swimmers.

All out: Guilderville’s Brodie Steele leaps from the board as teammate Eric Ryan touches the pad for the last leg of the 200-yard medley relay preliminary heat. The relay team finished 13th on Friday with a time of 1:37.84 then on Saturday finished 13th in the state with a time of 1:37.41.

Soaring with the best: Guilderville’s Isak Brkanovic leaps from the board to start his 50-yard freestyle preliminary heat. Brkanovic finished 7th overall with a time of 21.26 then on Saturday finished 6th in the state and federation with a new school record of 21.01 seconds.

Quick breath: Guilderville’s Isak Brkanovic gets some air as he nears the wall to make a turn in his 100-yard freestyle preliminary heat. Brkanovic finished 18th overall with a time of 47.36 seconds then on Saturday finished 12th in the state and federation with a new school record of 46.64 seconds.

Getting prepared: Guilderville’s 200-yard freestyle relay team made up of Eric Ryan, Brodie Steele, Bao Nguyen and Isak Brkanovic stand behind the block before they swim their preliminary heat. The relay finished 11th overall with a time of 1:28.18 then on Saturday finished 9th in the state and 11th in federations with a time of 1:28.13.

Hey there! Guilderville’s Eric Ryan comes up from under the water as he competes in the 100-yard breaststroke preliminary heat. Ryan finished 12th overall with a time of 59.51 seconds then on Saturday finished 10th overall in the state and federation with a time of 59.15.
