A flame rises from the rubble at 102 Prospect Terrace in Altamont on Thursday afternoon. The lot — which at various times housed a pizzeria and an auto body shop — is owned by Thomas and Sally Ketchum. They formerly owned the gas station in front of the lot, which has diesel, gasoline, and propane. Directly behind 102 Prospect is an Agway, which also has a propane tank. The Ketchums’ home, on Western Avenue, burned in September.
