W. Brian Barr of Guilderland, right, was given the Vision of Hope award, recognizing his many years of service and dedication to Senior Hope Counseling. “Brian is a leader in the field and has devoted his career to helping others,” said Nicole S. MacFarland, standing with him, who gave a speech at the Sept. 21 event. They are both members of the Albany Rotary Club and are pictured at a Rotary event. Senior Hope, licensed by the state’s Office of Addiction Services and Supports, is the only free-standing, non-intensive outpatient program in the state catering exclusively to people age 50 and older who struggle with substance use disorders, MacFarland said.
