Samantha Engelmyer, in front, helps Joe Seeman tape signs supporting Chuck Schumer to his car on Wednesday morning before the start of a caravan in Albany, one of a series of Lead the People events sponsored by the Indivisible project. Indivisible, a progressive movement, started in 2016 when Congressional staffers published an online handbook on peacefully resisting the move to the right under President Donald Trump. Engelmyer of Progressive Schenectady said her group decided “even a car caravan wasn’t safe on Inauguration Day.” The event took place before the House of Representatives impeached Trump, 232 to 197, a vote that included 10 Republicans. The Senate trial is likely to start after the inauguration.
