The Enterprise — Michael Koff

A cyclist on the rail trail approaches two panels of variegated colors on triangular banners hung from trees. Artist Susan Togut describes the inspiration for her Voorheesville work, titled “Crossroads: Transforming Uncertainty,” this way: “The village of Voorheesville evolved at the dawn of the 19th Century, when two railroads, heading west from the Hudson River around the Helderberg Mountains, crossed one another in a farm field. This farming community, known for its apple industry and railroads, grew various fruits, potatoes, and grains among other crops. Importantly, the building of railroads established this small village as a crossroads.”
