The Enterprise — Michael Koff
Scene of the crime: The house at 1846 Western Ave. in Westmere where a Chinese family of four — Jin Feng Chen, 39; Hai Yan Li, 38; and their two children, Edward, 7, and Anthony, 10 — were murdered in early October 2014, appears to be undergoing renovations. Carpets and other household goods were thrown in the Dumpster last week, and this week shingles are being removed from the roof. The owners of the property are listed in the Guilderland assessment rolls as Jin Feng Chen and Kam Ping Lo; they were renting the property to the murder victims. They could not be reached for comment this week. New York State Police public information officer Mark Cepiel said the investigation was still ongoing and there was no new information. But, he said, all evidence had been removed from the house, and the owners were free to do as they pleased with it.
