United States Navy Korean War veteran Joseph Persico, who died in August, is honored at a ceremony on Jan. 5, where his brother, Richard Persico, left, was given the American flag that flew over the United States Capitol. Richard Persico’s wife, Charlene, also attended the ceremony, along with a Persico cousin, and retired newspaper editor and memoirist Harry Rosenfeld, right. The ceremony was hosted by Daniel P. McCoy, the Albany County executive; Paul Tonko, the 20th District congressman; and Charles Burkes, the director of the Albany County Veterans Bureau.
