Citizen Science: FrogWatch Training on Wednesday, June 6, from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Would you like to join our citizen science team in documenting frogs and toads in the preserve? Do you need a refresher on your frog calls? For over 15 years, citizen scientists have been reporting data on calling frogs and toads to FrogWatch, a citizen science program of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Join us this evening for an information and training session and learn how you can participate in this amazing program by listening to the frogs and toads calling in your own backyard.

Realizing Peace through the Natural World: Botanist, teacher, mother, and beloved author Robin Wall Kimmerer will engage attendees in an interactive presentation on “The Gifts of Plants,” exploring the ways in which native plants offer gifts of food, materials, medicine, and beauty. Kimmerer shares her understanding of how plants are our oldest teachers. She encourages humans to act in reciprocity by giving their gifts to care for plants. Following the discussion and book signing will be a light Iroquois White Corn lunch.
