Paint an Eastern Box Turtle at Thacher Nature Center. 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Kids will have fun using mixed media to create the texture of an Eastern Box Turtle. They will learn some fun facts about the turtle as they learn how to paint it. Ages 7-13 are welcome. The cost is $20 per student. Nature Sketching classes to be held at the Albany Jewish Community Center, 340 Whitehall Road, on Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: May 23, 30, June 6, 13 and 20. Carol Coogan instructs this series. Students can record observations of the natural world (leaves and flowers) through sketches, drawings, and written descriptions. Cost is $82, $72 for a JCC member. Prepaid registration is required in the Albany JCC’s senior adult office.
