Bingo is back! Come and enjoy a nutritious lunch followed by friendly games of bingo, with chances of winning prizes. Bingo will be played on Fridays, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10.
In addition, anyone, not just seniors, can use the services of ACCESS (Albany County Center for Essential Supportive Services).
If you’re looking for information on any health-related issues, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) or any other programs, you can make an appointment by calling Dee Albert at 518-447-7192.
She is the acting deputy commissioner and is making appointments at the Berne Community Center at 1360 Helderberg Trail in Berne.
Seniors aged 60 and older are welcome to enjoy lunch offered by the Helderberg Senior Services lunch program. Meals are offered Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at the Berne community Center.
Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Doors open at 11 a.m. Masks are no longer required to enter the building. A $3 donation is suggested.
You must call Karen Stark at 518-937-5963 by 10 a.m. the day before you plan on attending. She needs 24-hour advance notice to ensure enough meals are provided for everyone.
Menus provide choices each day:
— Friday, Dec. 3: (Bingo day) Baked fish or baked chicken, mashed potatoes, zucchini and tomatoes, and pudding, or Swiss cheese sandwich with pasta salad;
— Monday, Dec. 6: Curry chicken over rice or baked fish and potatoes, cauliflower, and cookies;
— Tuesday, Dec. 7: Beef tips or baked fish, mashed potatoes, carrots, and fruit; and
— Friday, Dec. 10: (Bingo day) Potato crunch fish or baked chicken, roasted potatoes, brussels sprouts and cake, or chicken-salad sandwich, with carrot and raisin salad.
