Hilltowns

Fall is in the air! Fall has made its arrival with colorful leaves and cooler air, with the evenings getting darker much earlier.
As we gathered for our monthly meeting, we were greeted with fall decorations on the tables and Halloween goodies to munch on as we await the start of the meeting. We were fortunate to have Kathy Stempel from the Town of Berne Free Library as our guest speaker who gave us so much information on the new things that are available.
One item of importance was the library will offer every-other-Wednesday free-roaming time starting at 11a.m. on Oct. 19 for those who are home-schooled. What a great service for our community.
Stop by and visit with Kathy; she will show you the items that were in her Show & Tell Bag!
Then I decided we needed to do some exercise as we all need to do more to keep our bodies agile — we did four short face exercises. What are they, you ask?
Just bring a senior any second Saturday to our meeting and we would be happy to show you and all the other exercises I have planned.
Trips, trips, trips — what a year we have had and one more in the making: our trip on Oct. 19 to Turning Stone Casino. For those who signed up, check with me about departure times and, for those who would still like to sign up, yes — I still have room for a few more. Just call me at 518-779-5111.
We sang with joyous voices as we celebrated birthdays and anniversaries.
We then talked about the Thanksgiving Dinner being held at Vince Anna’s in South Westerlo — $5 for members; with road detours, call Shirley Slingerland to get directions.
Our Christmas Dinner will be catered and held in-house — details to follow. Wonder if Santa will show up this year?
Then we enjoyed a bountiful lunch prepared by busy hands!
Till next month — Boo!
