Hilltowns Senior News for Wednesday, May 25, 2022

We seniors are so excited to tell all how wonderful our trip was to Lancaster, Pennsylvanian and then to Hershey!

We visited the Bird-In-Hand Restaurant where the food was plentiful and the shoofly pie was heavenly.

After that, we continued down to the theater for the production (which was a musical) of “A Simple Sanctuary” based on a novel by Beverly and David Lewis. I don’t think I laughed that much in quite some time and the show proved to be a big hit among us.

The next day, we traveled to Hersey to do some chocolate shopping and then took the trolley tour, during which our guide talked about the man behind it all, Milton S. Hershey who established the Hershey Chocolate Company.

Then we proceeded to the Sight and Sound Theater to see the production “David.” Wow, the scenery,  live animals, and cast members were all magnificent — something I won’t soon forget.

Then we stopped to have dinner at Miller’s Smorgasbord where we all ate to our heart’s content. How we love to eat!

Then, the last day, we traveled to the Kitchen Kettle to do some last-minute shopping and to Sands Casino where a few of our guests actually won — a nice way to end our enjoyable trip.

See you all at the next senior gathering, which is our anniversary. If you haven’t made your reservation, call me, Alyce Gibbs, and I can put you on our list.

Always find a reason to laugh — it may not add years to your life but will surely add life to your years!
