Hilltowns Senior News for Wednesday, April 13, 2022

The Hilltown Seniors met for their monthly meeting on Saturday, April 9, with approximately 55 eager members. The meeting started off with our reports, read from our last gathering.

We proceeded to elect officers and we congratulated all thoses who were elected.

We had the acting deputy commissioner from the Office of Aging who talked about many things we all should be aware of and handed out pamphlets, sanitizer, and COVID test kits! Thanks so much for her presence among us.

We then had Shirley Slingerland talk about the many trips that are lined up. We are going on Wednesday for a day trip to Turning Stone Casino and still have seats available; we have opened the trip to the public. Call Shirley at 518-797-3467 to reserve your seat today!

Then our next scheduled trip is to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in May when we will be seeing the production of “David” at the Sight and Sound Theater, and then another show after that, and then of course shopping! Off we go to Hershey. Yes, a great trip and now the bus is full! What fun we shall have.

Then in August, we are going to “Noah’s Ark” in Kentucky. Want to join us? We still have a few seats available so, again, call Shirley and make a reservation.

Then we proceeded to partake in an exercise that I thought everyone should be doing. We sang “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean” and, every time we sang a work that began with the letter “B” we had to raise our arms — very funny! Maybe next month we will work on our legs!

The food was delicious so we left the meeting with full bellies! Till next month — the main function of the little toe on your foot is to make sure that all the furniture in the house is in place.

 
THE HILLTOWN SENIORS MET FOR THEIR MONTHLY MEETING ON SATURDAY, APRIL 9TH WITH APPROXIMATELY 55 EAGER MEMBERS.  THE MEETING STARTED OFF WITH OUR REPORTS READ FROM OUR LAST GATHERING.  WE PROCEEDED TO HAVE ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND WE CONGRATULATED ALL THOSE THAT WERE ELECTED.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO STOP BY AND JOIN US, WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE YOU!  WE HAD THE ACTING DEPUTY COMMISSIONER FROM THE OFFICE OF THE AGING WHO TALKED ABOUT MANY THINGS WE ALL SHOULD BE AWARE OF AND HANDED OUT PHAMPLETS, SANITIZER, AND COVID TEST KITS!  THANKS SO MUCH FOR HER PRESENCE AMONG US.  WE THEN HAD SHIRLEY SLINGERLAND TALK ABOUT THE MANY TRIPS THAT ARE LINED UP…WE ARE GOING WEDNESDAY FOR A DAY TRIP TO TURNING STONE CASINO AND STILL HAVE SEATS AVAILABLE AND HAVE OPENED THE TRIP TO THE PUBLIC.  CALL SHIRLEY AT 518-797-3467 TO RESERVE YOUR SEAT “TODAY”!  THEN OUR NEXT SCHEDULED TRIP IS TO LANCASTER PA IN MAY WHERE WE WILL BE SEEING THE PRODUCTION OF “DAVID” AT THE SIGHT AND SOUND THEATER AND THEN ANOTHER SHOW AFTER THAT AND THEN OF COURSE SHOPPING!  OFF WE GO TO HERSHEY..YES, A GREAT TRIP AND NOW THE BUS IS FULL!  WHAT FUN WE SHALL HAVE.  THEN IN AUGUST WE ARE GOING TO “NOAH’S ARK” IN KENTUCKY.  WANT TO JOIN US?  WE STILL HAVE A FEW SEATS AVAILABLE, SO AGAIN, CALL SHIRLEY AND MAKE A RESERVATION.  THEN WE PROCEEDED TO PARTAKE IN AN EXERCISE THAT ALYCE THOUGHT EVERYONE SHOULD BE DOING..WE SANG “MY BONNIE LIES OVER THE OCEAN”  AND EVERYTIME YOU SANG A WORD THAT BEGAN WITH THE LETTER “B” YOU HAD TO RAISE YOUR ARMS…VERY FUNNY!!  MAYBE NEXT MONTH WE WILL WORK ON OUR LEGS!!   THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS LEFT THE MEETING WITH FULL BELLIES!  TILL NEXT MONTH.. THE MAIN FUNCTION OF THE LITTLE TOE ON YOUR FOOT IS TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE FURNITURE IN THE HOUSE IS IN PLACE.
