Hilltowns Senior News for Wednesday, February 23, 2022
The Hilltown Seniors met on Saturday, Feb.12, with Karen Olenwick presiding over the meeting. The reports were read and accepted as presented.
Our trip leader talked about our upcoming trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in May and we are now taking only a couple more of those who are interested. She also talked about the Ark Encounter/Creation Museum trip scheduled for Aug. 15 to 20.
Shirley and I have flyers for this amazing getaway. Looks like we will be scheduling some day trips, one being at Turning Stone Casino. More information to follow.
Our book club will be resuming in March with lunch at the Babbling Brook and I will hand out a list of books worthy of reading.
Don’t forget the upcoming blood drive at the Lutheran Church in Gallupville on Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Karen played a game and gave out prizes — gee, where was I? Oh yes, in Florida enjoying the warm sunshine!
We had a speaker talk about snow-plowing contracts and not following through with the contract, and about all the phone scams we have been receiving. Thanks, Jon, for the information!
Many thanks to Marie Dibble for bringing COVID test kits for us to take home and thanks to Karen Stark for all she does to ensure the building is opened and the coffee is ready.
Next month, yours truly and my friend Mary LaConte will be on the kitchen committee — yummy! See you all next month for some fine food and an exercise program (bet you weren’t expecting that!).
