Strawberry Festival and Fundraiser

The Christ Lutheran Church at 1500 Western Ave. will be hosting a Strawberry Festival and Fundraiser on June 9 from noon to 4 p.m.

Included are strawberry shortcake (Homemade biscuits) with Stewart’s ice cream, hot dogs, German potato salad, beverages, baked goods, books and a raffle.

Senior safety

On May 22 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. join us for Senior Safety - at Home, Online, in Your Community. This program is presented by the Guilderland Police Department and will be offered at the Guilderland Public Library.

In this class, Officers from the Guilderland Police Department will give you tips that will help to keep you safe at home and out in the community. They will also discuss internet safety and security, and how to avoid online scams that target senior citizens.

Senior safety

On May 22 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. join us for Senior Safety - at Home, Online, in Your Community. This program is presented by the Guilderland Police Department and will be offered at the Guilderland Public Library.

In this class, Officers from the Guilderland Police Department will give you tips that will help to keep you safe at home and out in the community. They will also discuss internet safety and security, and how to avoid online scams that target senior citizens.

Drug interaction

On July 17 we will be going to the Log Cabin Banquet and Meeting House in Holyoke, Massachusetts.  

Log Cabin Famous Legends: 3 Fantastic Tribute Artists not just one singer but 3 true tribute artists, Ray of Elvis (Elvis), Rick Larrimore (Rod Stewart) and Ben Ashley (Buddy Holly) will all share the same stage for an unforgettable show stopper right here at the Log Cabin!

The deadline for tickets is May 31. We will depart at 9:30 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. with a cost of $63.

Philadelphia Orchestra

Aug. 2 join us for the Philadelphia Orchestra at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Preceding the performance we will dine at the Hall of Springs.

Do you think you can, think you can solve this high-speed mystery? You better buckle in for a bumpy ride, because things may get a little crazy her in 1911. You’ll just love your journey on the Old Mill Express. With targeting tycoons, savage psychics, hard-hitting journalists, and mouthwatering food; this murder has it all! Lunch will include a chicken and beef duet.

Wellness program

On March 28 at 1 p.m. join us for What’s the Fuss About Fiber? presented by CDPHP. You’ll be amazed at the many health benefits of fiber and how easy it is to choose rich sources of this powerful food component. Different types of fiber will be discussed along with a demonstration to emphasize fiber’s role in the body. Please call before March 23 to register for this 45-minute presentation and 15-minute discussion.

Bridge

A bridge group meets Friday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. here at the senior center. If you are an experienced bridge player the small group welcomes you to play. Feel free to just show up for the program.

Mahjongg and Pinnacle players

Both programs meet Thursday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. At the request of both groups, they are seeking new players and requested that this news reach you! Both groups will teach or refresh game skills!
