Berne Library Notes for Thursday, January 10, 2019

January resolutions are in full swing with pledges to eat healthy food, exercise, explore better choices, and step up book reading — all subjects that library resources can assist you with through books, videos, and online searches.

The Berne Library Moon Walk can aid with the exercise portion. Meet at the library at 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays for a half-hour walk or follow a video from the community room TV set-up.

Check out librarymoonwalk.sals.edu and log in your minutes, miles, or steps. Close to 33,000 steps have been logged so far. Challenge finish line is April 30. Join the many walkers stepping up to get to the moon.

Story time

Bundle-up story time is on deck for Tuesday Jan. 15 at 10:30 a.m. Join Kathy Stempel for a story, craft and bundling actions. Bundle to the left, bundle to the right, bundle down the middle until your warm enough for flight. Move around the library for a treasure hunt to find mittens, hats and surprises.

Self-publishing

Welcome to the world of publishing. Self- publishing, that is. You have been writing on and off for years. Dabbling with story lines or journaling or doodling pictures that seem to tell a tale. There are memories from your life just waiting to add life to the page.

Imagine the joy of putting your words on paper and then taking it one step further. MaryJo McKeon and Kathy Hill-Brown have joined forces to present “How to Self-Publish” with Indie publishing. Join them Friday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m. to learn all you need to know to get your words into book form.
