These local students have recently distinguished themselves:

Hayley Mattice of Schenectady, was one of 202 State University of New York College at Oneonta freshmen who spent their first full day in Oneonta volunteering in the community. Students moved into their residence hall on Sunday, Aug. 25, and participated in the college’s sixth annual Freshman Service Day the next day.

Mattice, whose SUNY Oneonta major is international studies, is a graduate of Guilderland High School;

VOORHEESVILLE — The Voorheesville Community Preschool is hosting an open house on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The preschool has open enrollment programs for our 3-year-olds and for 4-year-olds.  

More than 50 species of trees and shrubs from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's Saratoga Tree Nursery are now available to public and private landowners and schools.
