The 57th Hilltowns Memorial Day Parade is both a celebration and a memorial event commemorating those who have been lost during service to our country. This year’s theme is “Never forget, ever honor” and participants will include: Berne-Knox-Westerlo marching band, floats, military and classic vehicles, horses, fire and emergency vehicles as well as marching groups. The parade begins at 10:00 am and proceeds through the village of Berne. Participants convene at the memorial garden and flag pole in front of the BKW elementary school for the laying of a wreath, color guard ceremony, Taps and benediction followed by awards for parade participants. All are welcome. Visitors should note that Route 443 will be closed 9:45 – 11:00 AM for the parade.
