ALTAMONT — The fair is going to the dogs this week. Agile dogs, that is.

Canine Performance Events, Inc. will be holding an agility dog show at the Altamont Fair on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

GUILDERLAND — Standing on a balcony overlooking the playing fields, Emilio Genzano watched with a smile on his face as teams of young boys in heavy gear practiced football.

POUGHKEEPSIE — As the high noon sun shone down on the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie, Friday’s canoe and kayak preliminary events were done for the day.

But the day wasn’t done for some of the competitors.

NEW PALTZ — Mike Faragon stepped into the ring ready for his semifinal match on Friday night.

POUGHKEEPSIE — Every year, the Adirondack team at the Empire State Games wears yellow.

But this year, the girls’ lacrosse team representing the region had a big splash of red.
