BERNE — The basketball season got underway last week for both of the Berne-Knox-Westerlo basketball teams.

The BKW boys opened the season last Wednesday with a 55-44 win over Hoosick Falls in the first round of the Rensselaer Tournament.

A chance to give to those who have contributed to the community for decades

The holidays are a time of giving and sometimes that means more than shopping at the mall.



For three years, the plans to expand the Shabbos House on Fuller Road have been in limbo. This past week, the Guilderland Zoning Board of Appeals has approved a special-use permit that will allow expansion to 8,500 square feet.





GUILDERLAND - School district voters here gave a resounding yes on Tuesday to a $27 million building renovation project.





HILLTOWNS - A campaign ad that ran in last week's Enterprise caught a local developer off guard.
"I was shocked when I saw The Enterprise," said Jeff Thomas.

Unchallenged, Democrats roll on



WESTERLO - With a dormant Republican party, Westerlo offered no challengers to the Democrats this year. Six Democrats ran without opposition; all but one of them are long-time incumbents.
