GUILDERLAND — The wall outside the library at Westmere Elementary School is plastered with memories and love — heartfelt words and poignant art created by students to honor Micki Nevett.

KNOX — Robert Briggs Whipple — a farmer devoted to his land, his family, and his town — died on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Albany Medical Center of complications following surgery. He was 77.



BERNE — The basketball season got underway last week for both of the Berne-Knox-Westerlo basketball teams.

The BKW boys opened the season last Wednesday with a 55-44 win over Hoosick Falls in the first round of the Rensselaer Tournament.
