Melissa Hale-Spencer, editor of The Altamont Enterprise, will be the speaker at the Thursday, March 20 meeting of the Guilderland Historical Society when we begin celebration of the newspaper’s longevity with program “Celebrating 30 years of The Enterprise: Then and Now.”

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Historical Society’s 2014 program series begins Thursday, Feb. 20, with “A Visit From Henry Hudson,” a living history portrayal by Norman Bauman, costumes for the part. Bauman will describe “his” sailing career and especially the exploration of the river eventually named in “his” honor.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Historical Society’s Oct. 17 program will feature Paul and Mary Liz Stewart describing Freedom Seekers and the Underground Railroad.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Historical Society’s Sept. 19 meeting features another of our Civil War Sesquicentennial programs when Dr. Matthew Farina discusses “Civil War Medicine: Myth and Reality.”

GUILDERLAND — Matt George will be presenting the program “Baseball During the Civil War” at the Thursday, April 18, meeting of the Guilderland Historical Society.
