GUILDERLAND — A site owned by the Northeastern Industrial Park off of Depot Road has become a site for work on the proposed and controversial Constitution Pipeline.

Construction of a huge orange silo prompted neighbors and passers-by to wonder what was going on; workers at the site responded that they were not allowed to say.

McCoy did not sign the charter because it would allow for the legislators to decide on the size of the legislature rather than having an external committee do it.

“The charter would leave it up to the legislators to determine how large the legislature should be and that’s like putting the wolves in charge of the hen house,” Grimm said.

Connolly said she briefly considered pulling out of the race after losing the primary election, but she still has the endorsement of the Conservative and Independence parties, and had a lot of verbal support when she campaigned door-to-door.

EAST BERNE — Elizabeth “Betty” Clarke O’Hanlon died peacefully, the same way she lived her life, on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at St. Peter’s Hospital after a long illness. She was 96.

Mrs. O’Hanlon was born on Oct. 6, 1919, the oldest child of Thomas and Emma Clarke of Rensselaer.

GUILDERLAND — After a trial, a Slingerlands man, who burned a female victim’s lingerie, was found guilty of arson on Sept. 28 in Albany County Court in front of Judge Peter Lynch, according to the district attorney’s office.
