On Tuesday, Oct. 7, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Voorheesville boys’ golf teams battled in the Section 2 Class CD sectionals at Fairways of Halfmoon in hopes to move onto next weeks’ second round.
On Monday, Oct. 6, the Bethlehem boys’ volleyball squad made the trip out to Columbia High School to take on the Blue Devils in a Suburban Council matchup. The Eagles’ battled hard in four sets but fell three sets to one; 21-25, 22-25, 25-19, 22-25.
On Friday, Oct. 3, the Guilderland Dutchmen boys’ soccer squad had a non-league game against Broadalbin-Perth at home. The Dutch started off quick by scoring two goals in 2 minutes and 14 seconds and held on winning 5-0.
Last Thursday, Oct. 2, the Voorheesville girls’ soccer squad hosted Mohonasen in a battle of top teams in the Colonial Council matchup at home. The Birds kept the game close in the first half but Mohonasen’s pressure stopped the Blackbirds from any rally as they fell 7-1.
Last Wednesday, Oct. 1, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo-Duanesburg girls’ soccer squad hosted the Johnstown Lady Bills at Duanesburg Elementary. The Beagles netted the first but then stretched their lead in the second half when the Lady Bills played with 10 on the pitch. The Beagles won 4-0.
On Monday, Sept. 29, the Voorheesville girls’ tennis team held their senior night as they faced off against Ichabod Crane. The Birds fought till dusk but fell 5-2.
On Saturday, Sept. 27, the Voorheesville football team hosted the Stillwater/Saratoga Catholic to cap off their homecoming weekend festivities. Stillwater/Saratoga Catholic didn’t allow the Blackbirds anything as the Birds fell 41-0.
On Friday, Sept. 26, the Bethlehem football team went to Niskayuna High School for a crucial Class A matchup under the lights. Niskayuna used big plays to ground the Eagles in their 49-7 loss.
On Friday, Sept. 26, the Bethlehem field hockey squad traveled to Niskayuna High School in a Suburban Council matchup. From the opening whistle, the Eagles controlled the play until the final whistle as they won 11-1.
Last Thursday, Sept. 25, the Bethlehem girls’ soccer squad traveled to Columbia High School to take on the Blue Devils. The weather wasn’t the greatest to start as a monsoon rain was coming down then in the second half it was calm but the Eagles fell 2-0.
