Ronald Lee Sands

Ronald Lee Sands, who as a youth growing up in Altamont had a passion for adventure and making model planes, graduated from the Air Force Academy and went on to help design the F-4 Phantom, the primary fighter jet used in the Vietnam War.

EAST BERNE — Harold B. Grippin, a Korean War veteran and a long-time resident of East Berne, died at home on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023. He was 93.

Born in Binghamton, New York on Feb. 18, 1930, he was the son of the late Ralph and Harriet (née Bogart) Grippin.

WESTERLO – Hazel G. Flagler — a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother — died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023 at her residence. She was 81.

EAST BERNE — Sharon L. Munroe-Raber, of East Berne, died surrounded by family and friends at St. Peter’s Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, after sudden illness at her home on Saturday, Sept. 2. She was 60.

KNOX — Laura “Lori” L. Pincher’s three sons call her “an extraordinary role model and mother.”

On Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, they wrote in a tribute, “our beloved mother died surrounded by family in Knox due to complications from scleroderma and other conditions.” She was 64.

NEW SCOTLAND — Dr. Robert Calhoun King, D.D.S. of New Scotland died peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023, after a life well lived. He was 97.

VOORHEESVILLE — George H. Saba — devoted husband of 67 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather — died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 30. He was 91 years old.

Todd A. Rosa, who loved motorcycles and restoring cars, died on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023. He was 58.

ALTAMONT — Thomas Carberry Robinson who, as a young electrician, helped build The Egg, went on to teach prisoners and manage physical plants for colleges. His family describes him as “a highly respected and well-loved man both personally and professionally.”
