On Tuesday, May 30, the Guilderland Unified basketball team competed in the Unified championship against Mohonasen at Mohonasen High School. The Dutch were down as much as eight points and battled back to fall, 31-28.

On Thursday, May 25, the BKW track team traveled to Fonda-Fultonville High School for the Section 2, Class 5 sectionals. The girls team finished in fourth with 59 points and the boys finished in fourth with 48 points. They will be sending four to this week's state qualifier competition.

On Wednesday, May 24, the Guilderland track competed in the Section 2, Class 1 sectionals at Colonie High School. It came down to the last event for the Dutch to claim their first ever Sectional title and the Dutch did just that, taking the title with 183 points.

On Tuesday, May 23, the Voorheesville track team competed in the Section, Group 4 sectionals at Stillwater High School. The team is sending three relays and four individuals to the State Qualifiers at Shenendehowa on June 1 and 2.

On Friday, May 19, the Guilderland baseball team traveled to Central Park Diamond A in Schenectady to play Niskayuna in the Section 2, Class AA sectional quarterfinals. The dominant pitching from Niskayuna silenced the Guilderland bats as the Dutch fell, 7 to 0.

On Friday, May 19, the Voorheesville boys’ lacrosse, the Class D six-seed, traveled to Tamarac High School to face off against the three-seed Tamarac/Hoosick Falls. The Birds had a tough time against the Wildcats and fell, 14 to 2.

On Thursday, May 18, the Section 2, Class C fourth-seeded Berne-Knox-Westerlo softball team hosted 12th-seeded Hoosic Valley for a trip to face top-seeded Chatham in the semifinals at Moreau Recreational fields.

On Monday, May 15, the Voorheesville girls’ lacrosse team, the three-seed in the Section 2, Class D, sectional championships, opened up against the six-seed Johnstown at Clayton A. Bouton. The Birds had their claws on the pedal from the start to win, 22 to 4.

On Saturday, May 13, the Guilderland boys’ lacrosse team played in a regular season finale at Shaker High School as they battled with the Blue Bison. Shaker didn’t allow the Dutch time and space all game long and the Dutch fell, 12 to 2.

On Friday, May 12, the Guilderland boys’ tennis team kicked off its sectional play at home in a first-round matchup against Colonie. Guilderland won, 7 to 2, against Colonie but fell 8 to 1 to top-seeded Bethlehem.

Last Thursday, May 11, the Voorheesville baseball team had its final regular-season game at LaSalle Institute. The Cadets’ pitching didn’t allow much potential for the Blackbirds as they only had six hits and the Birds fell, 12 to 2.

On Tuesday, May 9, the Voorheesville boys’ lacrosse team traveled to Lansingburgh High School to take on the Knights on senior night. It all started from the opening faceoff as the Birds led from start to finish, winning 14 to 1.

On Saturday, May 6, the Voorheesville softball team traveled to Albany Academy for Girls for a makeup game due to a rain out. The Birds went hitless until the fourth inning and were able to scratch home a run. They lost, 10 to 1.

On Friday, May 5, Guilderland softball held senior night for three seniors on the team. It was a pitchers’ duel throughout the game but the Spartans scratched out the winning run in the seventh inning and the Dutch fell, 3 to 2.

Last Thursday, May 4, the Guilderland Unified basketball team hosted Mohonasen Unified at Guilderland High School. The Dutch started off slowly but battled themselves back in the fourth quarter but fell, 35-30.
