On Saturday, April 22, the Guilderland Track team competed with 31 other schools from New York, Connecticut, and Vermont in the 12th annual Niskayuna Warrior Classic at Mohonasen High School. The girls took home the title with 118.50 points and the boys finished 18th with 14 points

On Friday, April 21, the Voorheesville Blackbirds girls’ lacrosse team hosted the LaSalle Cadets at Clayton A. Bouton High School. The Birds pressured the Cadets since the opening faceoff and ultimately won, 17 to 0. It’s the first shutout in program history.

Last Thursday, Apr. 20, it was senior night for the BKW track team as they hosted Mayfield/Northville and Mekeel Christian Academy. The girls lost to Mayfield/Northville (84-53) but won against Mekeel (72.5-43.5), the boys lost to Mayfield/Northville (75-63) and won against Mekeel (83-33).

It was a cold and windy Tuesday, April 18, for the Voorheesville Blackbirds’ track team as they took on Cobleskill-Richmondville and Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk at Cobleskill-Richmondville High School. The girls’ team beat RCS (93-37) but lost to Cobleskill-Richmondville (83-58).

On Friday afternoon, April 14, the Voorheesville softball team traveled to Ichabod Crane for a Colonial Council matchup. The Blackbirds couldn’t muster much against the talented Riders. The Birds had two hits and lost 18 to 1.

Last Wednesday, April 12, the BKW softball team hosted a non-league game against Catholic Central. The Bulldogs pounced on the Crusaders early but the Crusaders came back in the seventh inning to stun the Bulldogs, 9 to 5.

On Tuesday, Apr. 11, the Guilderland baseball team played a non-league game against Shaker at Keenholts Park in Guilderland. The Dutch had their changes to close the game but the Shaker pitching didn’t allow it as the Dutch fell, 4 to 0.

Last Thursday, Apr. 6, the Voorheesville Blackbirds baseball team traveled to Mohonasen High School to take on the Warriors. The Warriors pitching staff allowed only four hits to the Blackbirds in six innings. Voorheesville lost 11 to 1.

Last Wednesday, April 5, the Guilderland Dutchmen hosted their home opener against the Colonie Raiders. Guilderland fell behind early but came back from four-runs down to tie it late. Guilderland lost in nine innings, 13 to 11.

On Monday afternoon, Apr. 3, the Guilderland boys’ tennis team traveled to Bethlehem High School to take on the Eagles in their first regular-season matchup of the spring tennis season. The Dutch fell 9 to 0.

Last Friday evening, March 31, the Guilderland Dutchmen and Voorheesville Blackbirds faced off at Guilderland High School in a non-league matchup. Guilderland’s high powered offense didn’t allow Voorheesville much opportunity as Guilderland won, 18 to 4.

Last Thursday, Mar. 30, the Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team hosted the Kingston Tigers in a home opener at home. Guilderland fell behind and attempted to try to score the tying goal late but fell, 7 to 6.
