On Tuesday, Jan. 24, the Guilderland Dutchmen hosted the Schenectady Patriots at Guilderland High School. The Dutch kept it close in the first half, but the Patriots used their speed in the second half to pull away. The Dutch fell 62 to 44.

On Friday, Jan. 20, the Guilderland Nordic ski team took to the course at Gore Mountain Ski Bowl in North Creek in the Johnstown/Guilderland Invitational. The boys finished fourth with 56 points while the girls finished in sixth with 61 points.

Last Wednesday, Jan. 18, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo bowling team took on the Fonda-Fultonville Braves at Town n’ Country lanes in Guilderland. The Bulldogs split between the girls and boys teams: the girls won 4 to 0 (1896 to 1716 in total pins), while the boys lost 4 to 0 (2655 to 2342).

On Tuesday, Jan. 17, the Voorheesville Blackbirds girls team took on Colonial Council foe in Academy of the Holy Names at home. The Birds started slow and costly turnovers but in the second half turned the tides but couldn’t muster a rally and fell 59 to 48.

On Friday, Jan. 13, the team of six Guilderland gymnasts broke up into two groups of three for the Saratoga Invitational at the YMCA Wilton Branch. While no overall team scores were kept, the gymnasts were still judged on their routines.

On Thursday, Jan. 12, the Guilderland bowling team had a big test to conquer the talent from Averill Park at Town n’ Country in Guilderland. The Dutch fell 20 to 12 (3629 to 2572) in total pins.

On Sunday, Jan. 8, the Guilderland Dutchmen and Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs indoor teams took part in the Ed Cepiel Invitational held at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Guilderland girls won the title while the boys finished in eighth.

On Saturday, Jan. 7, the Guilderland wrestling team took part in the Jamie Mormile Invitational at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk. Out of the twelve, five of them finished in the top five with three winning championships.

On Friday, Jan. 6, the Guilderland girls’ basketball team hosted Suburban Council foe Niskayuna. It wasn’t the best shooting night for the Dutch as they fell 63 to 39 to the Silver Warriors.

On Tuesday, Jan. 3, the Voorheesville boys volleyball team traveled to Ichabod Crane to kick off returning back from the Holiday break. Voorheesville fell in the straight sets, 3-0; 23-25, 13-25, 7-25.

On Monday afternoon, Jan. 2, the Voorheesville Blackbirds hosted the LaSalle Cadets at Town n’ Country lanes in Guilderland. The Birds battled in all three games but fell 17-15, and 2993 to 2922 in total pins.

On Friday, Dec. 30, the Guilderland girls’ wrestling team participated in the All Comers round robin tournament at Schenectady High School in Schenectady. All seven girls finished in the top five with three of them being crowned champions in their weight class.
