On Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 26, Guilderland’s Katrina Setchenkov battles Schenectady-Mohonasen’s Loren Cuomo in a rematch of the sectional final in 2019 at Sportstime in Schenectady. Setchenkov fell in straight sets 3-6, 0-6.

On Friday, Oct. 22, the Guilderland Dutchmen boys soccer team, the 6-seed, took to the pitch against Bethlehem, the 3rd seed, played in the quarterfinals in the Section 2, Class AA sectionals. The Dutch fell behind early but fought their way to a 2-to-1 upset win over the Eagles.

On Thursday, Oct. 21, the Guilderland field hockey team started their quest to their second sectional title at home against Niskayuna in the quarterfinal of the Class A sectional at Afrim’s in Colonie. The Dutch sailed away to a 4-to-0 win and will face Saratoga this afternoon at Afrim’s.

On Thursday, Oct. 21, the Voorheesville girls soccer team took to the pitch to play Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk to play in the first-round of the Section 2, Class B sectionals.

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg boys soccer team opened up their Section 2 Class C sectional on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 19, at home and faced off against Cambridge on the pitch. BKW-Duanesburg led from the start and won 4-to-0.

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, the Guilderland girls volleyball team hosted the Troy Flying Horses for senior night at Guilderland High School in Guilderland. The Dutch came out on all cylinders and swept the Flying Horses in straight sets; 25-14, 28-26, 25-16.

On Tuesday morning, Oct. 19, the Guilderland Dutch tennis team fielded two doubles teams and had two singles at the Section 2 individual sectionals held at Central Park tennis courts in Schenectady.

It was Senior Night for the Voorheesville girls’ volleyball team on Oct. 14 as they took on the Mohonasen Warriors.

On Saturday, Oct. 9, Helderberg Valley football team, made up of students from Duanesburg and Berne-Knox-Westerlo, took on Stillwater at Duanesburg Elementary School in Delanson. Helderberg Valley couldn’t muster any offense on the powerful Stillwater defense and lost 53-to-0.

The Guilderland Boys volleyball team took to the court at Bethlehem High School to take on the Eagles in a Suburban Council Matchup. The Dutch started hot but then the Eagles took over and swept the Dutch in three sets; 24-26, 9-25, 14-25.

On Thursday, Oct. 7, the Guilderland Girls soccer team faced off against Shaker on the pitch at Shaker High School. The Dutch held the Blue Bison scoreless with Guilderland getting some scoring chances but the tides turned in the second half as the Dutch fell 2-to-0.

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo-Duanesburg girls swim team hit the pool at Mohonasen High School on Oct. 5 to take on the Albany Academy for Girls. BKW-Duanesburg swam to a 95-to-71 win.

On Friday, Oct. 1, Voorheesville Blackbirds boys soccer team took on Colonial Council foe Catholic Central at home. From the opening whistle, Voorheesville led till the end and won 10-to-0.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, the Guilderland-Voorheesville girls team swam against Bethlehem at home. The talented Bethlehem swimmers led from start to finish to beat young Guilderville 110.5-to-75.5. The Geese are led by new head coach and former Guilderville alum Sarah Webber.
