Myrtle Sweet Murray

ALTAMONT — Myrtle Sweet Murray, who was dedicated to her family, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. She was a long-time resident of Altamont with her late husband, Owen Murray. She was 94.

William D. Ackner

GUILDERLAND — William D. Ackner of Guilderland, an electronics technician for General Electric, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. He was 88.

“The love a mother gives knows no boundaries,” wrote Susan Rosa’s children in a tribute. “There isn’t anything she won’t do for her children and her family. We don’t realize just how much she loves us; and we never really appreciate her until she is no longer here.

WESTERLO — Earl Bradford Cook, a carpenter who loved the outdoors, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, after a brief illness. He was 79 years old.

Frederick S. Hout

ALTAMONT — Frederick S. Hout of Altamont, a boilermaker who loved hot rods, died on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, after a long illness. He was 73.

Born in Albany to Frederick and Margaret Hout, he was a graduate of Albany High School and went on to serve in the Army Corps of Engineers from 1966 to 1968.

GUILDERLAND — Marjorie G. Kotmel, a supportive mother and doting grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 73.

She was born on Sept. 24, 1947 in Endicott, New York, the daughter of the late Sidney E. and Lois Gent.

GLENS FALLS — Charles “Chuck” Peter Schiltz, a devoted dad, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Glens Falls Hospital with his loving wife by his side. He was 59.

Born April 28, 1961, he was the son of Sylvester Schiltz and Betty (née Lee) Spadaro.

RENSSELAERVILLE — Alexander H. Dorman, who was devoted to his family and his country, died on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021. He was 93.

“His light, love, and laughter will be missed in this world,” said a tribute.

William J. Krause

DELMAR — On Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, William J. Krause died peacefully after a long and hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Together with his beloved wife, Carol, he raised a blended family of three sons and a daughter whom they loved and in whom they took great pride.

Mariana ‘Vicki’ Crosier

BERNE — One of the foremost champions of organ donation, Mariana “Vicki” Crosier was a restless activist with a national profile, who raised a family of public servants by instilling in them her selfless character.

She died on Monday, March 1. She was 82. 

Jacob H. Herzog III

NEW SCOTLAND — Jake Herzog III, a three-sport athlete in high school, loved to grow vegetables and ride his motorcycle.

“He could always find the good in people,” said his sister, Lynn Bragan. “He loved talking to strangers and finding out about them. He was very social.”
