The Bulldogs of BKW girls soccer opened up their season, in Fall Sports 2, against Schoharie on Saturday evening at Afrim’s Sports Park in Colonie. Schoharie’s talented team didn’t allow much for the Bulldogs the whole game as the Bulldogs lost, 9 to 0.

On March 26, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg, made up of students from BKW and Duanesburg, girls swim team took to the pool against Mohonasen-Schalmont at Mohonasen High School for the team’s senior night.

The young Voorheesville Girls volleyball team had their home opener and first game in Fall Sports 2 on March 19. Volleyball is categorized as a “high-risk” sport, but the team was finally able to play.

The Voorheesville girls’ soccer team got their official home opener on March 23 facing Cohoes. The Colonial Council put off soccer from the fall to the fall sports II season. The Blackbirds won, 2-to-1, with Lily Farrell and Emma Farrell scoring both goals.

On Saturday March 13, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo- Middleburgh wrestling team held a wrestling “friendly” against five other schools — Tamarac, Duanesburg-Schoharie, Stillwater-Mechanicville, Coxsackie-Athens, Johnstown-Fonda-Fultonville — where no team scores were kept, just the match scores, as wre

On Thursday Mar. 11, the Guilderland varsity wrestling team traveled to Averill Park High School in their season finale of the shortened season. No team score was kept so that all the wrestlers could get on the mat and not receive a forfeit. Some Dutch wrestlers went twice.

On Friday March 5th, the Storm, made up of students from Guilderland-Mohonasen-Schalmont-Scotia/Glenville-Voorheesville, had a matchup against Saratoga at the Schenectady County Recreational Facility in Schenectady on Senior Night.

On March 4th, the Voorheesville Boys basketball team held their Senior Night at Clayton A. Bouton High School. The Blackbirds honored their six seniors and five senior cheerleaders before the game against Colonial Council foe Schalmont.

On Saturday February 27th, the Guilderland boys basketball team traveled to Shaker High School in Colonie. The Dutch played the night before at home before making the early morning trip to Shaker to play at a 10 a.m. game.

Guilderland Varsity Competitive Cheer, designated as a high-risk sport, was itching to get back on the mat to perform for fans but this year all competitions are virtual meaning on Friday February 26 the coed team had to videotape their routine and email it to the judges.

On Thursday February 25th, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls basketball team hosted Schoharie at home in a Western Athletic Conference matchup. The Bulldogs started slow in the first quarter but the Bulldogs showed their grit and left the Indians in the dust to win 64 to 27.
