Thomas VanAuken

ALTAMONT — Thomas VanAuken “entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, after a long, valiant battle with lung cancer,” his family wrote in a tribute. He was 63.

MEDUSA — Brenda A. Heath died peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. She was 52.

“She’ll be missed by a lot of people,” said Gerald “Chris” Heath, her husband 0f nearly 32 years.

ALTAMONT — N. Joel Edwards, DVM was a humble man with a passion for helping animals and serving his faith and his community.

Cindy Edwards used these adjectives to describe her husband: loving, kind, sincere. “I could use every admiration in the book,” she added.

Dr. Edwards died on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020. He was 80.

GUILDERLAND — Julian W. LeVine, an Army Airforce veteran and Syracuse University graduate, taught first- through sixth-grade gym class at Westmere Elementary School for 30 years until he retired in 1986 with a “Julian LeVine Day.”

BERNE — Peter Marvin Becker was a figure who loomed large on the Hill, not just for his prominent positions, but for his powerfully joyous personality.

REXFORD — “On Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, Patricia Mabee Patrick moved on to her next adventure as she passed from this Earth at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, New York,” her family wrote in a tribute. She was 82.

FEURA BUSH — Karin Ruth Demis wove a large family together with as much care as she wove her unique textiles.

“She was always very supportive of everything we did,” said her daughter Barbara Lewis. “She was very caring. She loved her big family.”

“The true measure of a man is in the lives he touches, the love he gives to others, his kind words, and the way he listens with a humble ear. This was our dad,” wrote Edwin Rosa’s children in a tribute.

ALTAMONT — Bernie Dzingle was the type of man who remembered you.

DELMAR — Sarbjit Kaur Saran — “a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and mentor to many,” her family wrote in a tribute — died on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020. She was 58.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1962, in Nawanshahr, India.

BERNE — Nancy Ann Lendrum, an architect who helped with local building projects, died on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at Albany Medical Center Hospital. She was 66.
