EAST BERNE — Robert S. Galusha Sr., a responsible and hard-working man who always made time for his passions, died last Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at the age of 76. 

Frank R. Dergosits 

VOORHEESVILLE — Frank R. Dergosits — “devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather,” his family wrote — died on Monday, April 6, 2020, at home surrounded by his family. He was 86.

He was born on Oct. 22, 1933, son of the late Emerich and Helen Dergosits.

Carolyn A. LaFontaine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Carolyn A. LaFontaine died peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2020, after a long illness. Patrick Lounsbury, her best friend, companion, and forever love was by her side. She was 59.

EAST BERNE —  Kenneth Crawford, an iconic Hilltown farmer, died peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2020, surrounded by his family.

“Ken fought a courageous five-year battle with cancer,” his family wrote in a tribute. He was 84.

WESTERLO — “After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Willie passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020 at St. Peter’s Hospital,” his family wrote in a tribute. “As with so many others during these coronavirus times, it was so frustrating not being able to be by his side.” He was 61.

“On March 27, 2020 our dear son, husband, and brother, Lee, of Glenville, New York passed away after fighting a battle with metastatic cancer and mental illness,” his family wrote in a tribute.

James Richard Patnode, a resident of Queensbury who grew up in Guilderland, died at home on Sunday, April 12, 2020, following an extensive cardiac history, surrounded by his wife and family. He was 75.

He was born on March 27, 1945 in Burlington, Vermont and was the son of the late Richard and Eleanor (née Morrell) Patnode.

Florence ‘Flossie’ J. Bichteman

WESTERLO — Florence “Flossie” J. Bichteman died peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2020, after an extended battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was 92.

Born on Oct. 26, 1927, she was the daughter of the late David Stott and the late Mary J. White. She was married to the late William F. Bichteman Sr. for more than 72 years.

George Zimmer

George A. Zimmer of Berne, a decorated Vietnam veteran who worked in engineering, died at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 23, 2020. He was 76.
