Wayne Robert Lennebacker

ALTAMONT — Wayne Robert Lennebacker, a photographer and teacher of photography, died on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was 78.

Barbara Wolford

SCHOHARIE COUNTY — Barbara Wolford, a devoted mother who loved farm life, died on Tuesday, July 16, in her Knox Road home in the town of Wright, under the loving care of her son, daughter-in-law, and hospice after a long illness. She was 86.

DELMAR — Martha Faith Gardiner Slingerland, a teacher who was devoted to her family, her church, and her community, died on Friday, July 5, 2019. She was 94.

Mary Lou Quay Sapio

GUILDERLAND CENTER — For more than 35 years, Mary Lou Quay Sapio did laundry for Guilderland Center nursing-home residents. She died on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at her home, after a short illness. She was 64.

Daughter of the late William Quay Sr. and Rachel Helligas Quay, she was a 1973 graduate of Guilderland High School.

WESTERLO — Ruth Christine Hannay of Westerlo, the founding librarian of the town’s library who was also very active in the First Baptist Church of Westerlo, died on Friday, July 5, 2019. She was 67.

Dennis “Den” Walter Flagler died on May 6, 2019 at the age of 71.

Ethel Frances McDermott

KNOX — Ethel Frances McDermott, a loving mother and grandmother who worked as a school bus driver and as a nurse’s aid, died peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2019. She was 97.

She was born on May 19, 1922 in the Town of Wright to the late Harrison and Beula (née Clow) Gage.

Ted Willsey

BERNE — Clyde Edward “Ted” Willsey, a lifelong Hilltown resident and a World War II veteran, “was always willing to lend a helping hand,” his family wrote in a tribute. He died quietly on Saturday, June 29, 2019. He was 91.
