Results were mixed for the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs’ track-and-field team, competing Tuesday against Middleburgh, Duanesburg, and Mekeel Christian Academy at Middleburgh High School.

In a very physical matchup with Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on Thursday, the Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team wrestled to victory, 6 to 5. The reigning Section 2 champions have a new coach this season: Kara Depaula who was an assistant last year.

Sunny and bright described the day as well as the Berne-Knox-Westerlo softball team Friday as the Bulldogs played a non-league game against Rensselaer at home. The Bulldogs were down, 4 to 2, but bit back to win, 5 to 4.

The Guilderland boys’ tennis team smashed home a huge 6-to-3 win against Shenendehowa on Tuesday afternoon, the Dutchmen’s second game of the season.

With games postponed due to pesky snow, the Voorheesville Blackbirds and Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs were eager to start this season.

The spring season opener Tuesday saw the Guilderland boys’ lacrosse team playing in a cold drizzle of rain, sleet, and snow, losing to Ballston Spa, 13 to 5. The fields were wet with leftover snow at Ballston Spa so the game was moved to the artificial turf at Union College in Schenectady.
