GUILDERLAND CENTER —  Douglas King Bailey, a World War II veteran who lived in Guilderland Center and worked for General Electric, died on Friday, May 19, 2017. He was 91.

“He joined his loving wife, Dorothy Moras Bailey, in eternal peace,” his family wrote in a tribute.

FEURA BUSH — Clinton J. Zeh died on Monday, May 22, 2017. He was 82. Surrounded by family until the end, Mr. Zeh was known for his love of the outdoors and willingness to help others.

GUILDERLAND — Doris May Selig loved a challenge. Starting as a copy girl, she worked her way up to a supervisory role for the Associated Press at a time when very few women were in the news business. Although she worked for decades in Manhattan, she never gave up her rural roots in Guilderland.

ALTAMONT — Stephen Sylvester Schiltz, who played the soundtrack to his family's life and served in the military for 18 years, died on Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was 61.

“He was our music,” said his mother, Betty Spadaro.

A memorial service for Belva Boyden, a lifelong Berne resident who was active in her community, will be held as originally planned on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the First Reformed Church of Berne at 11 a.m. She died on New Year’s Day at the age of 81.

Barbara Plue Johnsen

ALTAMONT —  Barbara Plue Johnsen, described by her family as “a loving and caring person,” died on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Community Hospice of Albany Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. She was 66.

“Everyone who met her was a better person for the influence she had on their lives,” her family wrote in a tribute.

GUILDERLAND —Albert E. Parshall, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, formerly of Guilderland and Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, died on Jan. 28, 2017. He was 89. A Marine who served during both World War II and the Korean War. he was very active in fraternal organizations.

ALTAMONT — Esther May Adams — the mother of five, grandmother of 15, and great-grandmother of 16 — died on Monday, May 1, 2017, at The Grand of Guilderland. She was 94.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1922 to William and Eva (née Robare) Kehoe.
