The Bulldogs led from the start last Friday night against Western Athletic Conference foe Schoharie at home, beating the Indians, 66 to 22. This was BKW’s 13th victory in a row, having lost just their first game this season.

Hitting the mat, the team combined of Voorheesville Blackbirds and the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs, which The Enterprise calls Bird Dogs sparred last Thursday against Duanesburg at Duanesburg High School. Duanesburg cruised to a 57 to 17 win.

It might have been a slow start, down 12 to 5 after the first quarter, for the Voorheesville Blackbirds girls’ basketball team last Friday evening, Jan. 13, at Ichabod Crane but the Birds fought back to win, 49 to 39. Olivia Barringer led the Birds with 17 points.

Gravity had nothing on the Guilderland Dutchmen gymnasts last Thursday, January 12, as they vaulted past the Bethlehem Eagles, 165.550 to 148.550, in their home gym at Lynnwood Elementary School.

Taking on 16 other schools in the annual Saratoga Invitational wrestling tournament Saturday, January 7, Guilderland finished 15th with 50 points.

On point all season, the Voorheesville boys’ volleyball team has a 9-0 record and haven’t lost a set yet. Last Thursday evening, the Blackbirds took on Taconic Hills at home.

As snow fell, the Guilderland cross-country ski team traveled to Queensbury High School for the Queensbury Relays on Saturday morning, Dec. 31.

Having an off night shooting the rock, the Guilderland boys’ basketball team faced the Cadets from Albany Academy on Friday evening, Dec. 29, at Colonie High School in the Harold “Pep” Sand Holiday Basketball Challenge. The game was moved to Friday from Thursday due to bad weather.
