St. John’s Lutheran Church at 140 Maple Ave. in Altamont, this Sunday, June 19, will have one service at 9:30 a.m.

The sermon is "No Turning Back", based on I Kings 19:15-21, the story of the call of Elisha.

GUILDERLAND — Stuyvesant Plaza merchants will bring their goods outdoors during the plaza’s first sidewalk sale of the season on Saturday, June 25. Stuyvesant Plaza will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

St. John’s Lutheran Church at 140 Maple Avenue in Altamont starts the summer schedule, this Sunday, June 19, with one service at 9:30 a.m.

The ministry of the spoken word will be presented by retired Conference Deacon, Donald Bunk. His theme will be "Clothed in Christ", based on Galatians 3:23-29.

 

GUILDERLAND — Guilderhaven is creating a Fawn Fund to assist with the cost of rehabilitating fawns to be released back to the wild.

GUILDERLAND — Author and town resident Bruce W. Dearstyne has received a national award for his 2015 book on New York history, “The Spirit of New York: Defining Events in the Empire State’s History.”

On June 5, 10 artists showed off their artwork at the opening reception at the Guilderland Public Library. The exhibit is currently still up.

In Knox, the town held it's first annual Knox summertime Kickoff and Campout at Knox Town Park on Saturday June 4.

GUILDERLAND — One of the special things that a Boy Scout troop can do is help one of their own with his Eagle Scout project.  The rewards are two-fold for the participants.

KNOX — Parking for day use swimming at Thompson’s Lake Campground has been limited this season at John Boyd Thacher State Park.  There will be a total of 30 spaces available for daytime users on a first-come, first-served basis.

SLINGERLANDS — With a new Tiny Sprouts, pre-kindergarten program successfully added last year, Bethlehem Children’s School continues addressing the enrollment gap by welcoming back its middle school.  

A new owner takes over an old newsstand in Guilderland and turns it into a comfortable place to eat and spend some time.
