Take a family walk and enjoy a nature story at the same time!  The Friends of the Town of Berne Library invite you to enjoy a beautiful children’s picture book while walking in the picturesque Knox Town Park.

CLARKSVILLE — Join us on Wednesday, on June 3 at the Clarksvill Historical Society meeting, when Dietrich Ghering will discuss the impact of hops today and his efforts to re-establish a commercially viable Helderberg hops farm in the shadow of the Helderbergs near Indian Ladder Farms.

“A neighbor in need would enjoy spending time with you,” states a release from the 20-year-old not-for-profit group.

NEW SCOTLAND — The Anti-Rent Rebellion in New York State will be portrayed in song and stories by local musicians in period costumes.

The program will be held at Old Songs Community Center, 37 South Main Street in Voorheesville on Tuesday, June 2, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. 

KNOX — The Knox Youth Council is sponsoring “Community Day” on Monday, May 25, from noon to 2 p.m.  This will follow the Knox Memorial Day parade, which will end at the town hall on Route 156 in the village.
The event will be at the Knox town park, behind Town Hall.

RENSSELAERVILLE — The town of Rensselaerville will hold its third annual town-wide picnic on Sunday, June 7, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on the grounds of the town hall to celebrate the unity of its five hamlets: Cooksburg, Medusa, Preston Hollow, Potter Hollow and Rensselaerville.

WESTERLO — The stained-glass windows at the Westerlo Reformed Church, are difficult to appreciate in all their glory because the Plexiglas that protects them has clouded over the years.

Our community theater company was founded back in 1982 and "Li'l Abner" was our very first show!  How many of you remember that?

GUILDERLAND — The McKownville Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners will conduct a special meeting at Delaware Engineering, 28 Madison Avenue Extension, Albany, NY 12203 on Wednesday, May 27, at 6 p.m. to discuss plans for upcoming renovations on the firehouse. 
 

From historic railroad beds to waterfalls and through farmlands, six hikes will showcase Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy preserves beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 20, during the organization’s first ever Summer Solstice Hike-a-thon. The event will precede the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail Summer Solstice Festival.

DELMAR — Organizers of the Summer Solstice Festival on the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail are seeking food trucks, crafts, artisanal food vendors and musicians for the fourth annual outdoor event, held this year on Saturday, June 20, from noon to 4 p.m.

Capital Region high school students may take part in a four-day camp this summer to learn about careers in technology.
SEMI High-Tech U Camp runs from July 21 to 24, and is open to students in ninth through 12th grades.
