BERNE — The basketball season got underway last week for both of the Berne-Knox-Westerlo basketball teams.

The BKW boys opened the season last Wednesday with a 55-44 win over Hoosick Falls in the first round of the Rensselaer Tournament.

BERNE - Missing their number-one runner for most of the season, the runners on the Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys' team made big strides.





GUILDERLAND - As tears rolled down their cheeks, it was hard to tell that Guilderland had been the dominant team in Friday's football game.





GUILDERLAND - The Guilderland girls' cross-country team came into Friday's Class AA Section II race with two goals.

Both were accomplished and the Lady Dutch did something they haven't done since 1993.





GUILDERLAND - Friday was a bit of a disappointing day for Coach Bob Oates and his Guilderland boys' cross-country team.



GUILDERLAND - On Tuesday, Oct. 30, the Farnsworth Middle School modified football team wrapped up its season with a 46-8 victory over Albany, capping off a perfect record of 7-0.





VOORHEESVILLE - It was a disappointing end to the season for the Voorheesville boys' soccer team. But the future looks bright.

The Blackbirds lost to Galway, 3-2, in a Class CC semifinal game last Wednesday in Glens Falls.





VOORHEESVILLE - Even in what should have been its most tense moments, the Voorheesville girls' volleyball team stayed loose.





VOORHEESVILLE - Last Friday was a good day to be a Blackbird.

The boys' and girls' cross-country teams put on an impressive display at the Section II championship meet on Friday at Saratoga Spa State Park.
