Another school year has come and gone and the achievements of the local athletes have been stored away in their memory banks.





GUILDERLAND — They took different paths to reach the thing they both love the most.

And now it has taken them to high levels of success.





KNOX — Ray Gilman sits sprawled out on the couch in his parents’ house in Knox.

For the past two years and more, those names have been two of the biggest in Voorheesville sports — baseball, football, and basketball.



GUILDERLAND — He ran the fastest 800 meters on Saturday at the New York State Track-and-Field Meet at St. Lawrence University in Canton.





GUILDERLAND — They took different paths to get there, but three Guilderland athletes will be representing the track team at the New York State Meet this weekend at St. Lawrence University.

BERNE — The Berne-Knox-Westerlo track team did not have anyone qualify for states but that did not stop Coach Bill Tindale from being pleased with the season and looking forward to the future.

GUILDERLAND — Guilderland senior Kevin Gioia was in the midst of the final in Thursday’s Class A Section II championship contest against Bethlehem when he started breaking down.

GUILDERLAND — Errors kept the team from posting a major upset in the Class AA Section II quarterfinals on Saturday.





VOORHEESVILLE — The team ran into some bad luck as its season came to an end in Saturday’s quarterfinal loss to Johnstown.
