ALTAMONT SCHOOL NOTES
Excelsior vs. Altamont
The game Wednesday night with Excelsior High school, played at Altamont, was a one-sided affair, Excelsior winning by 33 to 12. The visitors brought along two teams, fearing that one might not be able to squelch the Altamont boys. The one-sidedness of the score does not begin to indicate the plucky fight which the A. H. S. boys put up against overwhelming odds. Outweighed and outplayed, they were in the game from start to finish, and were giving a good account of themselves when the final whistle blew.
The fact that the visitors outplayed Altamont was due to their weight and to the rough tactics they employed. The “stuff” they pulled off would have done credit to any football team. The Altamont boys were not blameless in this department, but they engaged in rough play only to show Excelsior that they were not getting away with it.
