VFW brings Christmas joy to our community

To the Editor:
It is with a very grateful heart that we would like to thank the Altamont Veterans of Foreign Wars Post for hosting the recent Drive-Through Visit With Santa, for our children and grandchildren.

In this age of COVID, the world has changed for everyone, including our children. I wish I could convey in this note, the smiles and joy experienced by our grandchildren. Santa played his part perfectly, and the basket of gifts each child received was fantastic!

It is obvious members spend a great deal of time picking out just the right age-appropriate gifts to fill the donated baskets of goodies. Each child received a craft, a book, games, and favored snacks.

Our granddaughter spent all afternoon coloring her pillowcase. She took great pride in making something so beautiful, and our grandson played his new game with us, and we all had such fun. Candies and drinks rounded out the joy of receiving.

Thanks again, members of the VFW, for bringing so much happiness and joy to our community.
