County DPW to the rescue

To the Editor:

I would like to express my thanks to the Albany County Highway Department for its actions this past week. The town of Renssealerville received nearly Three feet of snow with the nor’easter on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 2 and 3.

The Rensselaerville Library’s Annual Greenery Sale and Holiday Market was scheduled for the upcoming Saturday, Dec. 7. Although the center of the roads were plowed, mountains of snow were piled in front of the library, leaving no room for roadside parking or selling our Christmas trees and wreaths.

A call was made to the highway department on Wednesday, and on Thursday they came with their equipment and cleaned up the road in front of the library.

The Rensselaerville Library is a small library that relies on fundraisers for much of its annual budget. Prompt action by the Highway Department allowed us to hold a successful event. Without it, it would have been a disaster.

Thanks again to all the people at the Albany County Highway Department that made this happen.
