Why did The Enterprise omit my reasons?
To the Editor:
Reading The Altamont Enterprise is like that childhood experience when you get an invite to a classmate's house for dinner and needing to ask “what’s your mom cooking” because some of her meals are great and others go right into the dinner napkin.
Why did The Altamont Enterprise omit the reason I gave the Guilderland Town Board for explaining why anyone else except [Supervisor] Peter Barber would, in my opinion, be a better representative for the town of Guilderland at the New York State Association of Towns Meeting than Peter Barber?
Or, that I brought up the topic of questionable ethical conduct going on at the town board level of Guilderland. The ethics problems may have been of interest to residents that could care less about persons living in our town with a disability.
I thought [Deputy Supervisor] Christine Napierski would have asked me to provide evidence of my statements for the board to request an investigation …. But she was noticeably silent when I brought up town ethics.
I hope that the residents of Guilderland watch the Nov. 19, 2024 town board meeting on the town website with the possibility that the town may or may not edit your access to complete information. The town edits the town hearings on replay so you are not hearing the full meeting.
Remember, this is the same town board that heard a request by Peter Barber … that his term be extended.

Editor’s note: Topics raised at the November Guilderland Town Board meeting that had news value were explored in two stories: “Board delays $5M decision on new water meters,” and “Board hears plea for accessible parks as it releases $75K for box lacrosse field.” Allegations that had been raised before were summarized.
