Celebrate the magic of the season at the Altamont fairgrounds

To the Editor:

The Altamont Fair has a new event for this year — A Very FAIRy Christmas Village! This event is open on the first three weekends of December, on Friday and Saturday evenings, to give friends and families a chance to get together during the holiday season!

Celebrate the magic of the season at the Altamont fairgrounds.

This free-admission event features a charming holiday market with handmade craft vendors and a country store for your holiday shopping.

We’ll have plenty of free activities — free games for kids; an area to write a letter to Santa; a “find the fairies” scavenger hunt; a stroll through the Circus Museum dressed for the holidays; and a very special story time at 7 p.m. in the History Museum, with stories read by our Hometown Heroes. Each child at the reading will receive the book that was read. Santa will be ready and waiting for you to share your holiday wish list!

The Tap Room will be open at 5 p.m. each evening for a Holiday Happy Hour featuring some special holiday beverages, Christmas Trivia, ugly sweater, and festive wear contests! Ted's Fish Fry will be there at 5 p.m. to offer an amazing menu of favorites plus chili and chowders!

The rest of the festivities will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Families can enjoy a variety of optional holiday activities for a small fee, including horse and tractor wagon rides, ornament-making, cookie-decorating, s’more roasting, and visits with Santa Claus, complete with photo opportunities.

Punch cards will be available for purchase: $10 for kids, $15 for adults, which includes a wagon ride, and s’mores, cookie-decorating, and ornament-making; or each activity is available for purchase.

More details are on our website: https://altamontfair.com/christmas.

A Very FAIRy Christmas Village is a fun, family-friendly way to kick off your holiday season. We look forward to seeing you there!
