Why don’t we see our American flag being displayed?

To the Editor:

Our American flag is disappearing. You will remember the show of patriotism that occurred after the 9/11 attacks when you hardly could pass a house without the flag being displayed

I am proud to say I am married to an Army vet and our flag is displayed every day. We live just up from the Albany County Sheriff's Office substation at the former Clarksville Elementary School and are saddened to see that the flag is rarely displayed.

A flag can be permanently displayed without being taken down each evening if a light is reflected on it.  So what can the problem be that we do not see our American flag being displayed?
