Learn about composting with worms

To the Editor:

The Guilderland Garden Club will be hosting a meeting on Aug. 11 at the Guilderland Town Hall. There will be a business meeting at 10 a.m. with a presentation  on Vermicomposting at 11 a.m.

Cody Futia, owner of the Vermiluv, a worm-composting farm here in Guilderland will make an educational presentation.

Cody will teach us the process of worm composting to create the nutrient-rich soil for plants and gardens. We will also learn how to build and maintain a worm farm at home. Fresh vermicompost soil from Vermiluv Farm will be available for purchase by the pound.

It should be noted that this event should not be confused with the Diet of Worms held in 1521. This event was  gathered by Emperor Charles V in an attempt to rein in Martin Luther. The result was the Edict of Worms, which condemned Martin Luther as a heretic.

Worms will not be  served for refreshments at the Garden Club event on Aug. 11 but you can purchase some. All are welcome.
