To the Editor:
Thank you, Edgar Tolmie, for your well written letter  [“If you are better off after two years of Democratic leadership, you are a member of a very-well off minority of Americans,” The Altamont Enterprise, Nov. 10, 2022].

Of course The Enterprise brass could not resist their need to attack your letter. This is the problem we are forced to live with these days — liberal Dems throwing their hand grenades at every turn, and of course while reporting on the horrors of increased fentanyl, no mention of the increased border crossings that supply this poison to our fellow citizens.

Well done, Enterprise.

Editor’s note: Our story [“Deaths from drug overdoses surge,” Nov. 14, 2022] was based on State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s report, “Continuing Crisis: Drug Overdose Deaths in New York,” showing that deaths from drug overdoses surged during the pandemic; we focused on Albany County.

According to an unclassified January 2020 DEA Intelligence Report, “Fentanyl Flow to the United States”: “Currently, China remains the primary source of fentanyl and fentanyl-related substances trafficked through international mail and express consignment operations environment, as well as the main source for all fentanyl-related substances trafficked into the United States.”
